We are currently seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician Lead Hand to lead crews oversee irrigation installations and repairs and support field operations.
Position Summary
The Irrigation Technician Lead Hand is responsible for supervising irrigation crews while performing hands-on installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of residential and commercial irrigation systems. This role requires strong technical competence leadership ability and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise irrigation crews on daily job sites
Install maintain diagnose and repair irrigation systems
Coordinate daily tasks materials and equipment
Ensure jobs are completed safely efficiently and to company standards
Perform system start-ups adjustments and winterization
Troubleshoot electrical valve controller and water pressure issues
Read and interpret irrigation designs drawings and site plans
Complete and document daily site safety meetings and FLHAs
Communicate effectively with supervisors clients and crew members
Train and mentor junior irrigation technicians and laborers
Operate tools and equipment safely (trenching equipment pipe cutters hand tools etc.)
Assist with other landscape or maintenance tasks as required
Qualifications & Experience
35 years of experience in irrigation installation and repair
Previous lead hand or supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of commercial and residential irrigation systems
Experience with low-voltage electrical troubleshooting
Ability to read blueprints and irrigation plans
Physically fit and able to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Strong leadership organization and time-management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence with clean abstract
Ability to safely operate job-related equipment
Landscape or horticulture experience is an asset
