Position Summary
The Software Engineering (Data Analytics) Intern will support ongoing development and innovation efforts within an aerial surveillance system for a Department of Defense customer. The intern will contribute to Predictive Maintenance & Logistics (PM&L) initiatives by assisting with automating data collection and ingestion from camera systems supporting data pipeline development and integrating data into existing analytics frameworks such as Grafana and PostgreSQL. The role also includes contributing to system performance monitoring and enabling low-latency data processing to enhance overall system responsiveness and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position will report to the Associate Manager Software Engineering and will coordinate closely with the QA Software Development and Systems Engineering teams.
- Review existing software and test code to understand system functionality and identify gaps in test coverage.
- Use generative AI tools to develop and enhance unit and integration test code.
- Execute automated test code and analyze results to assess performance identify defects and improve overall test coverage.
- Document test results and communicate findings to the development team.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes tools and code quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of software development and testing efforts. Review existing code and test code.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Data Science or a related field.
- Java experience
- Python experience
- Must be geographically located within a commutable distance to the Trident location
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate results effectively.
- Experience with GIT and Jira is preferred
