Licensure or Certifications
- MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within45 daysunless department leader has determined it is notrequired.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices

Degrees:
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
- MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
- LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

As aMedicalAssistantyoullplay a vital roleinthe care team supporting providers connecting with patients and helping ensure a seamless compassionate experience every day.
As a key member of the ambulatory care team you will:
- Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
- Take and record vital signs medical histories and health screenings.
- Prepare patients for exams andassistproviders during procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Partner with physicians nurses and teammates to deliver high-quality coordinated care.
About This Location:
The pediatric clinic at 9200 W Loomis Rd in Franklin (Aurora Pediatrics) is a family-centered pediatric primary care clinic focused on comprehensive care for children and adolescents:
- Pediatric primary care: Provides routine and preventive care for infants children and teens including well-child visits immunizations and developmental monitoring.
- Acute and ongoing care: Treats common childhood illnesses minor injuries and helps manage chronic pediatric conditions.
- Whole-child approach: Offers guidance on nutrition behavior and developmental milestones supporting both the child and family.
- Accessible care: Offers same-day and virtual visits for convenience and timely care.
- Integrated setting: Located within a multi-specialty health center allowing coordination with primary care and specialty services if needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit stand walk lift squat bend reach above shoulders and twistfrequentlythroughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients medical equipment and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech vision hearing and touch withabilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore protective clothing and equipment must bewornas necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may berequired.
- Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may beidentifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
