Social Purpose
Every year MCIS invests some of its net income into initiatives that support free services for vulnerable populations training subsidies for aspiring interpreters and translators and language advocacy initiatives such as the Our Language Rights Canada Conference on Canadian Language Advocacy Day.

Language rights protect the rights of individuals and groups to choose which language(s) they use in private as well as in public interactions such as legal health educational or political access to information andservices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager the Marketing Specialist plays a key role in designingshapingand executing strategies to promote our full range of offerings including translation interpretation localization and language technology solutions. A Marketing Specialist plays a central execution and coordination role within the marketing team. They bridge strategy and day-to-day deliver making sure campaigns content and initiatives get done on time while completely aligning it with the brand strategy.

The Marketing Specialist will primarily focus on B2B sectors such as healthcare legal government education and corporate industries where they are expected to blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This role requires a strongexpertisein digital marketing content creation campaign management and analytics.

TheMarketingSpecialistskey roles and responsibilities are as follows:

Marketing - Planning and Execution
  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager to create and execute annual plans.
  • Manage MCISs brand positioning messaging value propositionschannels& marketfocus.
  • Manage marketing mix: Product (Services) Price Place and Promotions.
  • Plancreate& executenew service offerings catering to specific market segments.

Content Creation & Management
  • Create targeted content for industry segments (e.g. healthcare legal government)
  • Develop website content email campaigns newsletters and case studies.
  • Create social media content and postings weekly (primarily for B2B).
  • Ensure messaging isaccurate culturally sensitive and industry specific.
  • Assistin creating marketing materials (emails social posts brochures presentations).
  • Coordinate content calendars andpublishingschedules with other departments.
  • Proofread and ensure consistency in messaging and branding
  • Work with designers writers or external agencies whenrequired.

Brand & Positioning Support
  • Assist Marketing Manager in rebranding initiatives.
  • Maintain brand consistency across channels.
  • Support positioning of AI vs human services.
  • Assistin rebranding initiatives.

Digital Marketing & Analytics
  • Monitor website performance SEO paid Google ads and campaign metrics.
  • Reinforce AODA compliance.
  • Track KPIs such as leads conversions and ROI.
  • Use tools like Google Analytics HubSpot Marketing and CRM systems
  • Update website content (CMS platforms)
  • Manage or schedule posts on social media channels
  • Support email marketing campaigns (build test send & analyze)

Data Tracking & Reporting
  • Monitor campaign performance (opens clicks leads conversions overall reach).
  • Compile reports and dashboards for various teamsand campaigns.
  • Maintain CRM or marketing databases in HubSpot.
  • Identifytrends and highlight insights to the Marketing Manager based on reports.

Campaign Execution & Coordination
  • Support and launch campaigns for all MCIS existing and new services (including AI and human).
  • Coordinate timelines assets and approvals across teams.
  • Manage campaign calendars (email social events).

Lead Generation Support
  • Build and manage email campaigns and lists.
  • Manage businessfunnelsfor potential target leads.
  • Support webinars and create downloadable assets.
  • Work with Business Development to pass and track leads.
  • Manage Website Chatbots to generate leads.

Event & Webinar Coordination
  • Help organize events webinars and trade shows
  • Coordinatelogistics(registration vendors materials)
  • Support promotion and post-event follow-up
  • Track attendance and engagement metrics

RFP & Proposal Support
  • Assistin preparing RFP responses for government and healthcare clients.
  • Develop marketing collateral for proposals.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging.

Trade Show/Events
  • Plan and manage participation in trade shows conferences webinars and industry events.
  • Build marketing partnerships with associations buying groups or networks relevant to our business.
  • Maintain a conference database of all conferences attended.
  • Coordinate and arrange shipment of displayers literature and presentations.
  • Manage annual budget for trade shows.

Any other duties that are assigned that arereasonably withinthe scope of this position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The Marketing Specialist should have a general post-secondary education (university degree/college diploma) with a focus on Business Administration or Marketing. A combination of experience and training would also berequired. The education & trainingrequiredfor this position provides a solid foundation and knowledge in sales and marketing. These skills position the role to provide recommendations to meet the organizations sales goals.

The Marketing Specialistrequiresa minimum of 3 years of related experiencein order toeffectively fulfil the functions of this position. This related experience will be in sales creating and analyzing sales reports; responding to client needs;identifyingand meeting customer needs and expectations; effectively managing projects through planning and scheduling and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Developedexpertisein online and social media marketing with a demonstrated successfultrack recordin using Facebook X and other social media outlets that are significant in company outreach.
  • Candidates with a good understanding of the language industry will be preferred.
  • Proficiencyin: Adobe Express Canva Mailchimp & video creation apps Microsoft ExcelPowerPoint& Word WordPress Website management HubSpot Marketing platform and Google Analytics.
