Operations Support Lead

Job Summary
Supporting our efulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand. The site will handle the movement of customerspecific products including beers wines and spirits within a fastpaced warehouse environment.
As an Operations Support Lead you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse ensuring all required technical equipment is in place and running as it should. You will lead a team and whilst carrying out their duties always maintain Health and Safety and provide a knowledgeable solutions-based approach to the Warehouse to ensure the smooth day to day running of this technical function. You will liaise with various Contractors and Customer to deliver service plans and maintain critical inventory on site.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 40 hour week
Key duties of an Operations Support Lead:
- Responsible for the upkeep of the Critical inventory.
- Ensure all relevant equipment remains compliant and fit for purpose.
- Work closely with 3rd party suppliers contractors and liaisons with Customer Ops Excellence teams.
- Assist the picking and packing team by providing engineering solutions to assist in operational capacity.
- Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant to drive efficiency and reliability.
- Carry out planned maintenance inspections and complete repairs with little disruption to the Operational schedules.
- Look for opportunities to continuously improve performance.
- Follow set procedures and guidelines with respect to Health and Safety and COMAH Regulations.
- Ensure good working practices and housekeeping are adhered to.
- Providing weekly reports to senior management on status of operational equipment.
- Proactively make recommendations regarding the equipment to meet the site operational requirements and future development.
- Manage and develop the team identifying key team members for the future and ensure they are able to fuel the Companys growth and succession plans.
- Recruit train and retain a team of staff that are committed to quality in line with the customers expectations as a premium brand.
Qualifications :
- A demonstrable track record in managing high volume high service driven warehouse operations.
- Ability to think and work both strategically and operationally.
- A successful builder and leader of large and diverse teams.
- A positive can do outlook with the determination and tenacity to succeed.
- Proven ability of where personal drive commitment and enthusiasm has led to Business success.
- Experience of CIP ideally including formal programs such as Kaizan Six Sigma and Lean would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills ability to converse at all levels.
- Previous knowledge and experience or a retail type environment would be an advantage.
- A highly confident and proactive individual able to represent the Company and customer.
