Position Details:
Reporting to the Senior Director/Counsel of Labor Relations the Labor Relations Manager will serve as the primary day-to-day leader for all labor relations matters in Tenets affiliated Massachusetts market. This role will oversee labor relations across three facilities in Massachusetts and work closely with senior human resources and operations leadership.
Under the direction of the Senior Director/Counsel of Labor Relations this individual will help drive strategy and provide guidance on a broad range of labor relations matters including collective bargaining contract interpretation and administration labor law compliance and union avoidance.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Advise and counsel hospitals market and corporate office on labor relations matters.
- Manage collective bargaining negotiations and contract compliance at multiple facilities with a number of labor unions.
- Support market hospitals in all aspects of the grievance/arbitration process including handling arbitrations or managing outside counsel in arbitrations as appropriate.
- Manage preparation for and the response to strikes and picketing as well as other work actions by labor unions.
- Manage the response to union organizing when needed.
- Travel as necessary between three facilities located in Worcester Framingham and Natick. Selected candidate will be required to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; JD required.
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Experience managing outside counsel and consultants.
- Experience managing the grievance and arbitration process.
- Experience with union campaigns.
- Experience with union negotiations.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of labor and employment laws and labor relations.
- Possess research analytical organization and computer skills (Word PowerPoint and Excel).
- Ability to work independently as well as having strong interpersonal organization written and communication skills.
