About the role

An exciting opportunity has come up to join the Procurement team in a key support role.

this role is responsible for ensuring Councils contracts are effectively managed deliver expected outcomes and comply with legislative policy and probity requirements. This role works across the entire strategic procurement team with the Procurement Officer reporting directly to this role.

This role provides professional support and advice across the organisation to ensure accurate contract variation practices are implemented and executed. The role is responsible for supporting the lifecycle of contracts improving compliance mitigating risk and enhancing value for money outcomes in line with Council policies and legislative requirements.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

  • Provide professional timely advice on procurement and contract management matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle including establishment execution administration variations extensions and close-out.
  • Ensure all contract management activities comply with legislative requirements Council policies and probity standards.
  • Triage and coordinate all contract departures during the evaluation phase ensuring appropriate governance probity approvals and documentation are in place.
  • Manage and coordinate contract variations and executions across the organisation.
  • Maintain and oversee the contract register ensuring all records are accurate current compliant and audit-ready.
  • Monitor contract expiry timelines and proactively engage stakeholders to facilitate extensions renewals or close-out.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks and support the management of disputes escalations and supplier performance issues.
  • Partner with contract managers to monitor contract and panel performance including spend compliance and outcomes and support interim tracking where required.
  • Lead improvements to contract management processes systems templates and standard clauses to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Support procurement activities including RFx processes and identify opportunities for aggregation panel arrangements and improved value for money outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Procurement Officer and contribute to broader strategic procurement initiatives.
