Job Description:
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
General Administration:
- Drafts and types correspondence (e.g letters dealing with administrative issues dictation acknowledgements); checks typing for accuracy sorts and prioritizes typing assignments within general guidelines; researchers and responds to difficult enquiries on behalf of supervisor.
- Performs general office duties such as answers and screens telephone calls and directs enquiries and answers inquiries; greets and escorts visitors; files documents electronically or manually; photocopies and distributes materials as requested; and sends and receives fax/email material as requested; resolves routine inquiries.
- Handles and ensures the protection of extremely confidential and sensitive employee/officer client and/or program files
- Builds and maintains employee databases
- Drafts and prepares presentations brochures fliers advertisements invitations and certificates subject to supervisory approval (eg. Power point presentations).
- Schedules meetings prepares agenda and takes minutes; type and circulates minutes.
- Makes decisions on routine and urgent administrative matters in the absence of the supervisor.
Admin Human Relations
- Keeps all personnel files up to date.
- Enters all employee information into payroll database.
- Complete orientation of new employees.
- Processes WCB claims Health Benefits & RRSP applications.
Admin Payroll
- Complete timesheets
- Answers questions from Employees regarding payroll
Reporting:
- Prepares and receives all paperwork for various projects and processes specifically related to Human Relations create and maintain list of reports required for health and safety compliance purposes.
- Is involved with all parts of Job Postings eg. Advertising scheduling interviews interviews and completing reference checks Support external reporting requests as needed.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
- Communicates with DHQ/THQ Human Resources regarding Human Relations processes
- Communicates with THQ regarding payroll
Governance Boards and Councils: None
Internal: Staff members Crossroads Management Team and Social Committee team
External: Public
MANAGERIAL/Technical Leadership RESPONSIBILITY:
- Reports directly to: Business Manager.
- Direct reports for this position: None. May show others how to perform certain procedures.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
- No financial or materials management.
- May be authorized to handle small amounts of cash.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typically works at Saskatoon Crossroads in an office.
- Some travel (under 10% of Time may be Required between Saskatoon Crossroads Bethany Home and Saskatoon Temple.

education and experience Qualifications:
Education Qualifications and Certifications:
- completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of one academic year
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Two years of prior related work experience including administrative experience and experience dealing with office equipment and tools.
- Some experience in Human Relations processes is preferred.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word Excel & Outlook) are essential
- Strong sense of Integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
- Demonstrates an ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Must be well-organized adaptable and professional.
- Must have a strong ability to handle confidential information appropriately be discreet and be diplomatic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Respect and understanding of The Salvation Army its mission culture and values.
- Physical ability to carry out the demands of the position.
- Ability to lift weights of up to 20lbs on occasion
- Attention to detail problem solving and analytical skills.
- Background check consent.

- This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid drivers license and an acceptable drivers abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof upon being hired.
*This is a Fixed Term Temporary 10 weeks (estimate) position. Weekly scheduled hours: 37.5*
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $19.09 to $23.87 with a maximum of $28.64.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
