Job Overview
The Head of Research & Development will lead innovation and product development initiatives driving the creation of new product pipelines while optimizing costs and processes. This role requires a strategic leader who can integrate emerging technologies and deliver impactful solutions that support business growth and market competitiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the New Product Development CAPEX budget for the financial year.
- Oversee and control the R&D OPEX budget effectively and efficiently.
- Identify and introduce new technologies through industry engagement and research.
- Lead end-to-end new product development aligned with marketing requirements ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee product development for international markets meeting defined cost and timeline targets.
- Drive initiatives to improve product gross profit (GP) through cost optimization.
- Build mentor and lead a high-performing R&D team.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Manufacturing or a related field).
- Minimum 15 years of industry experience with significant exposure in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of product development manufacturing processes and innovation management.
- Proven ability to manage budgets timelines and cross-functional teams.
- Passion for innovation continuous improvement and emerging technologies.
- Strong leadership analytical and decision-making skills.
