Occupational Therapist Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at our 88-bed skilled nursing facility. As an Occupational Therapist you will work with patients to help them regain and maintain their ability to perform daily tasks and activities. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $39-42 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients physical emotional and cognitive abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients needs and goals
- Help patients improve their motor skills balance coordination and range of motion
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and techniques to improve their independence
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists and speech therapists to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Monitor and document patients progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on how to continue therapy exercises at home
- Communicate effectively with patients their families and other healthcare team members
- Stay up-to-date with the latest occupational therapy techniques and advancements
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Availability to work 35 hours per week Monday through Friday with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
