Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Behavioral Health Unit
Location: Kealakekua HI 96750
Pay Rate:$30 -$34/hour
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support within a behavioral health setting working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to deliver safe compassionate and patient-centered care. This role may also include continuous patient observation (sitter responsibilities) to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care under the direction of licensed nursing personnel
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming and feeding
- Observe monitor and promptly report changes in patient behavior condition or vital signs
- Maintain a safe structured and therapeutic environment for behavioral health patients
- Perform continuous observation/sitter duties for high-risk patients as assigned
- Support de-escalation techniques and adhere to behavioral health safety protocols
- Accurately document patient care activities in a timely manner
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Minimum of 1 year CNA experience preferred (behavioral health experience strongly preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with professionalism empathy and composure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Schedule & Shift Details
- 5 shifts per week
- 8-hour shifts (Days and/or Nights)
- Flexibility required based on unit needs
