The UF Lastinger Center for Learning in the College of Education is looking to hire a Student Assistant External Affairs and Government Relations. This position will support legislative outreach by coordinating visits and campus events researching education policy priorities and officials preparing communications and ADA compliant materials and undertaking additional related duties.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning legislative visits to state representatives and senators
Assist in researching education policy priorities
Assist in planning events to host legislators on campus
Assist with writing articles and creating slide presentations
Research officials and funders
Prepare materials for policymaker visits
Review educational materials for ADA compliance
Additional duties as assigned
Expected Salary:
$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications:
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Students graduating Spring 2027 or later preferred
Experience working with state policymakers a plus
