Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT) Location: Mission Viejo CA Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract) Shift: Day Shift 4x10 Hours (8:00 AM 4:30 PM) Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT/PET Tech) to join a dynamic imaging team in an acute care setting. The technologist will primarily perform PET imaging while supporting Nuclear Medicine procedures as needed. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
Responsibilities
Perform PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
Operate imaging equipment and ensure optimal image quality
Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
Follow radiation safety infection control and departmental policies
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for optimal patient care
Maintain equipment perform quality checks and ensure proper functionality
Float between PET and Nuclear Medicine departments as required
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
Minimum 6 months of PET experience required (mandatory)
First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of total experience
Certifications
ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
Active California State License required
BLS (Basic Life Support) AHA required
Skills
Strong knowledge of PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures
Experience with Siemens equipment preferred
Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
Excellent patient care and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Schedule & Work Conditions
Variable start times between 7:00 AM 9:00 AM
4x10-hour or 5x8-hour schedule based on department needs
Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend
On-call responsibilities required (post-shift and rotating weekends)
Floating between departments as needed
