Peer Advocate Student Assistant
Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Office of Academic Advocacy is to improve undergraduate student persistence/retention progression and completion in support of key strategic university goals and measures. This position will support the Office of Academic Advocacy in outreach to students to increase enrollment for the next term. The position will work collaboratively with Academic Advocates to assist students in resolving issues that are preventing course registration. This position reports directly to an Academic Advocate.
Responsibilities
The peer advocate supports Academic Advocates in reaching and exceeding second- year retention metrics and increasing enrollment at the University of South Florida- Tampa campus. The incumbent will address issues related to registration/academic holds and refer students to appropriate supports and university departments.
- Outreach to students with academic barriersimpactingtheir progression or performance.
- Outreach towardsmultiple cohortsto encourage fall enrollment and provide supportwith holds and other barriers.
- Outreach to students with an academic standing of Academic Probation (AP) or Deferred Probation (DP) in efforts to retain.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled student at the University of South Florida in spring 2026 and summer 2026.
