Job Description
Under the direction of the State Archives Manager the Scanner will support the processing and digitization of NAC files. This role involves preparing scanning indexing and performing quality control on historical and sometimes fragile documents.
Key Responsibilities
Remove staples and prepare NAC files for scanning
Organize files by number and separate documents within folders
Label individual documents and folders accurately
Enter folder information into Excel spreadsheets
Scan index and perform quality control checks on documents
Handle fragile materials with care to prevent damage
Upload completed files to a portable drive at the end of each day
Requirements
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Word Excel Outlook)
Experience with digital imaging or Adobe Photoshop is preferred
Ability to sit for long periods while working on a computer
Ability to stand bend lift and move boxes up to 35 lbs
Must pass Nevada Department of Public Safety background check and fingerprinting
Work Standards (After Training)
Process NAC files: 1 file every 6 minutes
Scanning: 3040 pages per hour
Quality Control: 150300 pages per hour
Error rate: 2% or less annually
Work Expectations
Employees are expected to maintain professionalism follow State of Nevada policies and comply with all confidentiality requirements. Personal device use is restricted during work hours with limited exceptions per policy.
