The Opportunity:
Lynas Rare Earths is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide high-quality legal support across all Australian operations. This role plays a critical part in supporting commercial decision-making while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
You will provide trusted legal advice manage key documentation and contribute to safeguarding Lynas interests while upholding the highest legal and ethical standards.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide general legal guidance to internal stakeholders in line with Lynass policies and legal obligations
- Prepare review and maintain legal and business documentation
- Draft review negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements
- Provide legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters across Australian operations
- Support land tenure native title and heritage-related matters
- Contribute to procurement activities and tender processes
- Assist with dispute management and potentially litigious matters
- Support company secretarial functions including board papers minutes ASIC filings and company registers
- Contribute to legal knowledge sharing training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to health safety and environment (HSE) standards
Skills and experience required for this role:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Law
- 5 years of post-qualification experience
- Previous Experience within corporate commercial or in-house environments (mining/resources industry preferred).
- Strong understanding of Australian legal and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to provide clear practical legal advice to non-legal teams
- High level of professionalism integrity and attention to detail
