Business Development is at the core of our corporate operations and supports our goal to bringing more therapies to patients. Our BD team works with potential partners supporting a deep understanding of treatments and their therapeutic applications. To inform our work our BD teams engage with clinicians and gather insights in all regions in which we operate.
This role will expand our BD team in LATAM and support our regional work with potential partners. The BD Manager will require the ability to step into new therapeutic areas and to grasp complex clinical regulatory and reimbursement dynamics across the region. They will apply a systematic work ethic and employ clear communication of insights to management and bio techs as part of our evaluation of new partnerships in LATAM.
Responsibilities:
Work in coordination with the Medison Business Development team to support partners through the BD journey from first contact to deal closure.
Drive the evaluation of BD opportunities in selected LATAM markets notably (but not solely) Argentina Brazil and Mexico and assist with development of comprehensive assessment and evaluation of new opportunities.
Lead the BD commercial assessment for the LATAM and work in collaboration with the team to consolidate insights into the overall Business Case presentation to potential partners
Responsible for the development and implementation of assigned market research activities in LATAM related to BD projects and opportunities
Conduct secondary market research covering all related aspects of potential candidate treatments from clinical research through to reimbursement and commercial strategy
Partner with internal subject matter experts in-region to develop and validate our understanding of unmet need and pathways to market
Engage in targeted Primary Market Research through interviews with external stakeholders mainly key opinion leaders.
Maintain awareness of the BD environment and opportunities in LATAM. Where appropriate explore propose and initiate business opportunities to further develop Medisons presence in the LATAM market.
Prepare written analysis and summary reports for the research insights accumulated during your work
Participate in international travel and work assignments several times per year for departmental/national meetings and business development initiatives
Comply with all Medison SOPs policies and national guidelines

Requirements:
Minimum Graduate Degree in life and/or natural sciences medicine pharmaceutical or a similar scientific discipline. Alternative qualifications may be considered if augmented by relevant training or experience
Preferred post-graduate degree in relevant scientific health economic or business fields
Minimum 5 years experience in either:
Pharmaceuticals/Biotechnology Commercial Medical or Market Access
Associated adjacent organisations such as Pharmaceutical Consulting
Financial Analysis in Banking / Healthcare
Business Development in Pharmaceutical /Biotech
Experience engaging specialist healthcare professionals and hospitals
Experience assessing novel innovative treatments in Argentina/Mexico/Brazil
Understanding and experience in LATAM pharmaceutical policy and landscape (for example pricing and reimbursement)
Prior experience with rare diseases and/or oncology - an advantage
Fluent English - essential
Fluency in Spanish
Fluency in Portuguese advantage
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully maintain professional and trusting relationships
Flexibility in engaging with global team in different time zones including regular meetings out of local business hours
