Our client is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-impact DevOps team at the Group IT Hub South Africa delivering IT solutions to the global Group.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines building insightful dashboards and translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) governance function.

Data Engineering Mastery: Design build and optimize scalable data pipelines and workflows using AWS services driving business decisions through data storytelling and visualization.

Technical Leadership: Senior-level expertise in cloud data engineering providing architectural guidance mentoring junior team members and independently delivering high-quality solutions.

Global Delivery: Build secure scalable cloud applications and data solutions for international markets ensuring stability performance and alignment with IT governance and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant IT / Business / Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are preferred:
• AWS Certified Data Engineer
• AWS Certified Developer Associate
• AWS Certified Data Analytics
• AWS Certified Architect Associate
• AWS Certified Architect Professional
• Hashicorp Certified Terraform Associate
• Essential: Willingness and ability to travel internationally for project requirements

Essential Skills & Technologies:

• Python coding and data pipeline development (ETL Spark) from APIs Databases Files Streams and more
• AWS services including S3 Glue Athena RDS Lambda DynamoDB EC2 VPC Step Functions
• Amazon QuickSight for data visualization reporting and interpretation
• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and AWS infrastructure management
• Git and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD
• Dashboard development - creating compelling insightful dashboards that communicate complex data clearly
• Exploratory data analysis and business insight generation
• Translating business requirements into well-defined technical specifications
• Defining acceptance criteria and managing scope for technical deliverables
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Adaptability to perform additional tasks under the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

• Solution Design: Design data pipelines propose data and dashboard solutions and support development cycles
• Development: Develop and maintain high-quality efficient software and custom solutions
• Cloud Engineering: Build deploy and scale cloud applications using AWS with a focus on performance and security
• Documentation: Document system designs and key technical details
• Support: Resolve operational issues and support new use case onboarding
• Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project goals
• Mentoring: Mentor and train junior team members
• Ownership: Take ownership and deliver impactful meaningful solutions
