NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The tutor is generally responsible for instruction of Reading/Language Arts and English Language Development of K-8th Grade students in small groups as they are assigned by the supervising teacher. The tutor will be responsible for following the schedule as designated by the supervising teacher. The tutor instructs using a variety of instructional methods including researched based ELD strategies. The supervising teacher or resource specialist will assist the tutor in the planning of lessons. The tutor may be responsible for maintaining program documentation for the assigned building.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- AA degree required; BA preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationships
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff students and patrons
- Must follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary
- Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
- Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
- Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently with initiative
- Able to work flexible hours
- Prior job-related experience preferred but not required.
- Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) Required.
- Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.
- Record keeping and computer skills preferred.
- First Aid Card or ability to obtain.
REQUIRED LICENSES CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING:
- Passing score on district administered bilingual test.
