Are you someone who believes every young person deserves the chance to thrive At Esland we provide traumainformed therapeutic care for children aged 8 to 18 many of whom have encountered adverse childhood experiences and complex trauma. Our solo home based in Nelson Burnley is seeking a full-time childrens support worker to complete our dedicated and highly valued team.
What Youll Do
Youll be part of a group of like-minded individuals working in a role that truly makes a difference. Our staff are able to build nurturing trusting relationships with our young people and act as their professional parents. Your duties will include:
- Supporting your young person with emotional regulation daily routines and personal development
- Keeping detailed records and promote safeguarding at all times
- Supporting your young person with fun activities their personal interests education access and engagement and household responsibilities
- A commitment to working 48-hour shifts including sleep-ins (paid) followed by a 4 day break (we are a 365 service offering structured shifts paid bank holidays and opportunities for overtime)

*Estimated salary based on an a pay rate of 13.45 to 13.75 per hour (days) and 60 per sleep night. Above pay rate comes into effect from April 2026.
What We Need from You
Experience within care education mental health support and/or youth activities is highly desirable but we equally value transferrable skills and the right personality traits for the role.
What we definitely need:
- A full driving licence issued in the UK
- Applicants with full right to work in the UK with no restrictions
- Values in line with Eslands such as taking a therapeutic person-centred approach to childcare
- A calm compassionate and resilient approach
- The ability to recognise the tough days matter just as much as the good days
Due to industry regulations applicants must be aged 21 or above (essential)
Successful employment is subject to satisfactory Full Enhanced Disclosure right to work and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices (the company will cover the costs).
