Required Licenses and Certifications
Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff category physician on the medical staff of Childrens National Medical Center. (Required)
Board certified or eligible for board certification in primary practice specialty. (Required)

- Provide clinical services for patients at Childrens Hospital and other approved sites in an ethical professional and timely manner.
- Provide oversight of the medical care team and manage direct patient care for a specified patient population; improve continuity of care customer service and partnerships with community medical providers through timely completion of records and communication.
- Provide on-call services as determined by the division leadership.
- Actively participate in family centered care and communicate in a professional and compassionate manner; refer patients to specialists and to relevant ancillary services as appropriate.
- Appropriately utilize the defined chain of command and escalation policies.
- Respond to team members and outside medical providers in a timely and respectful manner; communicate clearly to trainees expectations regarding patient updates and notifications of significant clinical changes and encourages questions from trainees.
- Participate in CNMCs advocacy initiatives.
- Contribute scholarly effort to the advancement of public policy to promote population-based pediatric health and well being.
- Teach patients and families about treatment prevention and care enhancement techniques.

- Supervise and train clinical professionals and students effectively
- Follow established bylaws policies and procedures continuous quality improvement objectives and safety environmental and/or infection control standards.
- Adequately and promptly complete all clinical documentation as required by JCAHO other regulatory bodies and/or the Medical Staff Bylaws Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures include complete clinical charge documentation.
- Identify problems related to patient services and make recommendations for improvement.
- Cooperate and participate in the development implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of care; Participate as a member of special care teams Medical Staff and hospital committees.
- Review and prepare protocol for use by staff. Evaluate patient care according to adopted protocol and Quality Assurance program criteria. Participate in evaluation of peers and support staff; acknowledge and report medical and/or other errors as well as participate in efforts to prevent them.

The Hospital Medicine Division of Childrens National Hospital (CNH) has exciting opportunities for Pediatric Hospitalists to join a dynamic team serving children in the Washington DC Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. We are one of the nations largest Hospital Medicine Divisions and care for patients at 7 sites in the region. Sites vary in their scope of patient care and there is flexibility to work at one or multiple sites. Faculty appointments are available through George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Childrens National Hospital Washington DC Our group provides clinical coverage of multiple service lines throughout the hospital including academic teams with various learners complex care perioperative care orthopedic co-management telemedicine follow-up and more.
Childrens National Bunker Hill Road Washington DC Our group provides daytime clinical coverage at our post-acute and rehabilitation facility with a multi-disciplinary team. Clinical responsibilities include the care of premature infants feeding difficulties heart and lung diseases ventilator-dependency rehabilitation after traumatic injuries wound care IV therapy and other medically complex health conditions.
Holy Cross Hospital Silver Spring MD Our group provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital. Clinical coverage includes an inpatient pediatric unit a newborn nursery and pediatric consultations as needed in the emergency department (ED). Teaching opportunities include medical students Pediatric residents and multidisciplinary staff.
Mary Washington Hospital Fredericksburg VA Our group provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital. Clinical coverage includes a 10-bed pediatric unit a newborn nursery and pediatric consultations as needed in the ED. Teaching opportunities include medical students Family Medicine residents and multidisciplinary staff.
Shady Grove Medical Center Rockville MD Our group provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital. Clinical coverage includes an inpatient pediatric unit a newborn nursery and pediatric consultations as needed in the ED. Subspecialty support is available via in-person or telemedicine consultation from many Childrens National subspecialties.
Stafford Hospital Stafford VA Our group provides 24/7 in-house coverage at this affiliated community hospital. Clinical coverage includes a newborn nursery a 6-bed Level II NICU deliveries and pediatric consultations as needed in the ED. Telemedicine and transport support is available from the Neonatology group at Mary Washington and/or Childrens National Hospital.
Virginia Hospital Center Arlington VA Our group provides both in-house and home-call coverage (with residents in-house) at this affiliated community hospital. Clinical coverage includes an inpatient pediatric unit a newborn nursery and pediatric consultations as needed in the ED. Teaching opportunities include medical students residents and multidisciplinary staff.
