Job Description

Job Summary:

The POI Stowage Engineer serves as the real-time expert on all NASA inventory items. Assignments tend to be of moderate complexity diversification or expense. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Normally receives instructions on routine work detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provides daily list of parts tools materials needed to perform science activities on the International Space Station.
• Coordinates with NASA control centers International Partners and NASA Payload Developers; POI Stowage ensures hardware is tracked from launch to landing.

POI Stowage Team supports real-time operations five days a week twenty-four hours per day; in addition back room teams support five days a week eight hours per day.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 0-2 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Essential Duties

• Follows all import/export requirements consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
• Knowledge of specific software (design analysis ERP)

Other Qualifications

US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
