Job Title: Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist
Location: Battle Creek MI
Job Type: Contract (18 Weeks with possibility of extension)
Work Setting: Onsite
Schedule:
- Monday & Wednesday: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Tuesday & Thursday: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM 11:00 AM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to support both clinical and administrative functions in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills experience in patient care and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients ensuring a positive patient experience
- Take and record vital signs accurately
- Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen collection
- Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
- Administer vaccines as directed
- Assist with front office duties including scheduling and answering phones
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
- Provide general clinical and administrative support as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
- Experience in Occupational Health preferred
- Strong communication organizational and computer skills
- Ability to manage both front and back office responsibilities
Certifications:
- CMA Certification required (preferred if not mandatory)
- BLS or CPR Certification required
Must-Have Skills:
- Phlebotomy / venipuncture
- EKG
- Point-of-care (POC) testing
- Patient scheduling and coordination
- Rooming patients and taking vitals
- Front and back-office experience
- EMR system proficiency
