Thermal Engineer in Aero-Thermal and Clearances Design (ATCD) team will be responsible for executing Heat Transfer Secondary Flows and Thermal analysis & design and build design expertise while executing NPI/NTI/research projects all GE heavy duty gas turbine products. The candidate will also be responsible for building analysis models in-depth interpretation of analysis results and preparation for design reviews with clear conclusions and recommendations. The candidate also expected to collaborate with cross functional global teams to execute and deliver the high-quality results on time and implement LEAN principals in daily work.Job Description
What youll do:
The primary responsibilities of Engineer will be:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline of thermal/heat-transfer & secondary flow system design for Gas Turbine components.
- Execute thermal/heat-transfer analysis and design of flange-to-flange stationery & rotating components for various gas turbine engines using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards design practices procedures and product requirement. Engineer will also be responsible for performing secondary flow system analysis & design.
- Work with global mechanical performance and clearance teams during tollgate design process to achieve timely and accurate design solutions through collaboration.
- Execute new product introduction (NPI) design tasks. Own and participate in identifying & executing conceptual preliminary & detailed design analysis
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering design templates and design practices. Complete documentation & model management for assigned projects to deliver DMs eDRBs etc.
- Demonstrate mindset of ownership and accountability to achieve goals.
- Interpret the analysis results & participate in innovation to suggest and generate ideas to improve the design and analysis methodology.
- Demonstrate learning and practicing AI/ML tools and methods to improve design system
- Practice Lean and probabilistic principles to improve current product and processes.
What youll bring (Basic Qualifications):
- M. Tech./ M. E. with specialization in Thermal/Thermal-Science/Heat-Transfer/Aerodynamics/Energy/Mechanical Engineering with excellent academic records
- Maximum 2 years of work experience in analysis and design of any turbomachinery or Gas Turbine
- Experience with P-Thermal FlowSimulator ANSYS-THERMAL HYPERMODEL HYPERWORKS CFX ICEMCFD UG
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent analytical and project management skills
- Must be able to work well in a global matrix organization
