Job Summary

As part of AECOMs continued growth and success in the Northeastern Ontario Municipal Water Market we are actively seeking a creative and highly talented Deputy Project Manager to deliver important infrastructure projects for the communities we serve. This new Deputy Project Manager role will lead a variety of drinking water and wastewater projects including treatment pumping storage and related infrastructure. Project tasks may include planning and feasibility preliminary design detailed design tendering construction commissioning and close-out. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the delivery of complex water and wastewater projects including both linear and vertical infrastructure as a Deputy Project Manager.
  • Lead project planning scheduling budgeting reporting and execution across the full project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design tender and construction-phase services.
  • Contribute to business development through client engagement proposal support and pursuit activities.
  • Support construction delivery including contract administration inspections commissioning and start-up.
  • Build strong relationships with clients owners contractors and stakeholders through effective communication and coordination.
  • Champion quality safety and technical excellence across all phases of project delivery.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in civil mechanical electrical or chemical engineering
  • 4 years experience in planning design and construction of vertical and linear water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Direct experience in project coordination/management for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Valid Ontario Driving license and access to a vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • or eligibility for within 6 months
  • 8 years experience in planning design and construction of vertical and linear water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Understanding of Municipal Design Standards and Regulations
  • Hands-on experience supporting heavy civil construction projects in field or site environments
  • Proven experience developing and reviewing engineering designs plans and technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation problem-solving and analytical skills with a collaborative approach to project delivery
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
