Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are seeking an Information Specialist to join Vine Violence Information Aotearoa a national centre for family violence and sexual violence research and information within the Faculty of Arts and Education.

This role is responsible for developing and managing Vines information services including a specialised collection of physical and digital resources. You will support the collection organisation and dissemination of research and information for a wide range of users including practitioners researchers policymakers and communities.

Working as part of a small collaborative team you will contribute across a range of activities including:

• Maintaining and developing Vines information collection and retrieval systems
• Responding to information requests from quick queries through to more in-depth research
• Curating and sharing content including newsletters bibliographies and web content
• Supporting the accessibility and usability of Vines online knowledge resources
• Building relationships with stakeholders across the sector
   

The role blends elements of librarianship with subject-focused work. While you will build knowledge in the family and sexual violence space over time you will bring strong research capability sound judgement and the ability to engage with complex and sensitive information.

This is a part-time (0.60.8 FTE / 22.530 hours per week) permanent position. 

The salary range is $85000 $90700 (pro rata for part time hours).

You will bring a background in information or library services along with experience working with specialised collections research resources or knowledge services.

You might also have:

• Strong research and search skills with the ability to synthesise and present information clearly
• Experience working with databases cataloguing systems or web-based information platforms
• Confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders and responding to varied information needs
• An understanding of or interest in applying tools and technologies (including AI) to information services
• The ability to work thoughtfully with sensitive subject matter
