    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher provides instruction and skill development to high school students in a creative hands-on learning environment. FabLab courses support an engineering and design program that prepares students for pathways in engineering bio-engineering and technology. Students learn to imagine design and create projects using digital design software and 3D printing technology while applying the Engineering Design Process. The CTE Teacher is responsible for delivering a comprehensive program that includes content standards and promotes career awareness.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Teach courses and workshops in digital design software 3D printing laser cutting CNC machining soldering and electronics.
    • Develop and implement engaging project-based lesson plans aligned with STEAM standards (Science Technology Engineering Bio-Engineering Art and Mathematics).
    • Guide students in designing and creating projects using the Engineering Design Process including the use of design software and fabrication tools.
    • Assess student progress and provide timely meaningful feedback to support growth and skill development.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and provide whole group small group and individualized instruction.
    • Foster an inclusive maker environment that encourages creativity innovation collaboration and peer learning.
    • Promote student engagement and growth through effective instructional practices and the integration of social-emotional learning.
    • Support students in career exploration decision-making and development of job-seeking and retention skills.
    • Ensure a safe organized and well-managed lab environment including strict adherence to safety protocols.
    • Maintain repair and calibrate lab equipment (e.g. 3D printers laser cutters CNC machines) and manage inventory of materials and supplies.
    • Utilize instructional technology effectively including experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
    • Design and implement a curriculum that supports CTE pathway completion incorporates industry-recognized certifications and aligns with high-quality CTE standards.
    • Adapt instructional strategies and pacing to meet varying student abilities motivation levels and learning styles.
    • Uphold appropriate standards of student behavior using effective classroom management techniques and positive reinforcement.
    • Participates in a variety ofduties such as supervisory duties participation on school committeesmeetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and to improve student achievement.
    • Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. grades lesson plans following scope and sequence correspondence with parents and students examinations and quizzes attendance anecdotal records etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.
    • Reports incidents (e.g. fights suspected child abuse suspected substance abuse harassment zero tolerance offenses etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to state law and board policies.
    • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software (2D and 3D) and experience with fabrication equipment.
    • Demonstrated experience with relevant software and machine operation.
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Industrial Arts STEM or a related field.
    • Wyoming State Certification required or ability to obtain certification through the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board ( with a secondary endorsement in a related field; or
    • A minimum of three years of direct industry experience in a related field and eligibility to obtain a PIC (Professional Industry Career) Permit in STEM through PTSB ( School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:
      1. Wyoming experience.
      2. Out-of-state experience up to 7 years.
      3. Degree ï½ Bachelors Masters or Doctorate.
      4. Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

      Salary pending approval of the 26/27 Compensation Package; 25/26 package can be foundhere.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit on the floor depending on the age of the children. While performing the duties of this job the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. 0 - 12 feet and on occasion up to 20 feet such as classroom equipment.Must be able to move freely throughout the lab stand for long periods and occasionally bend stoop and lift materials weighing 25-50 pounds. Required to use personal protective equipment.Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person may need to lift arms to write on chalk or marking board and occasionally stoop kneel crouch and reach 0 - 24 inches and up to 36 inches above the head. The employee is directly responsible for the safety well-being and work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed materialthe ability to adjust focus and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate but may become loud when large groups are together in a room. The employee may be required to move from room to room to provide instruction and may have to maneuver in crowded hallways. Duties are typically performed indoors and occasionally outdoors such as playground duty or when students are boarding or unloading buses. The employee may be exposed to unpredictable weather conditions. This position is typically performed in a hazard free clean and healthy environment.
