Job Title: Surgical Technologist Operating Room (Scrub/Assist)

Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) to support Operating Room services in a fast-paced surgical environment. The Surgical Technologist will function under the supervision of the circulating nurse and surgical team assisting with scrubbing sterile field maintenance and intraoperative support in accordance with AORN standards aseptic principles and facility protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and circulating nurses during surgical procedures in the Operating Room
- Prepare organize and maintain sterile surgical fields using strict aseptic technique
- Perform surgical scrubbing gowning and gloving procedures per established hospital guidelines
- Assist with patient positioning skin preparation and sterile draping
- Set up surgical instruments equipment and sterile supplies for procedures
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure efficient intraoperative workflow
- Perform sponge sharps and instrument counts in coordination with the surgical team
- Identify manage and organize surgical instruments and supplies during procedures
- Assist in handling medications and solutions under RN supervision
- Clean decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment per protocol
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment ensuring compliance with standards
- Prepare case carts and operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures
- Assist with emergency and urgent surgical cases as required
- Maintain OR safety infection control and regulatory compliance standards
- Report equipment malfunctions safety concerns or unusual occurrences
- Support anesthesia and surgical teams as needed
- Contribute to OR efficiency workflow optimization and cost-effective practices
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program OR equivalent military surgical training
- Active Surgical Technologist Certification (required)
- Current BLS certification (AHA required renewal every 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and operating room protocols
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience preferred
- Experience in Orthopedic General Vascular and C-Section procedures
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile processing
- Prior experience in hospital-based OR settings
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs during procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
