Description

This position helps make gospel teachings resources or services accessible to all Gods children supporting the mission of the Church. The purpose of this job is to ensure that international shipments are delivered to the correct location in a timely manner. This is accomplished by working with stakeholders carriers governmental agencies members & leaders to create or modifying processes to ensure that all needs are being met.

The Import/Export Supervisor has the responsibility to ensure that staff members are following processes as outlined for their specific job functions. The Import/Export Supervisor also acts as subject matter expert for exports from Salt Lake; is primary contact for freight carriers for Distribution Services shipments; assists other divisions and departments with their export needs; gathers data for reports and metrics.



Responsibilities
  • Establishes shipping metrics and regularly reviews results with staff to ensure targets are being met

  • Trains staff in work related skills such as but not limited to the proper shipment of hazardous goods commercial invoice (and other export document) preparation; documentation archiving; proper packaging and shipping process based on various modes of international transportation

  • Coordinates with Destination DCs and Carriers to ensure all Church documentation and shipping practices are compliant with national and local laws

  • Analyzes and evaluates processes related to the work of the Shipping Specialists

  • Coordinates and reviews carrier performance to ensure the Church is receiving reliable service which meets Church Supply Chain standards materials and standardized processes

  • Reports shipping documentation compliance etc. issues concerns and potential process improvements to upper management all shipments

  • Oversees tracking of shipments to ensure timely delivery

  • Oversees Hazardous Shipping Process

  • Coordinates with other DC supervisors and leads on improvement initiatives

  • Resolves customer concerns



Qualifications
  • BS degree in Logistics or related field
  • 4 years of transportation/logistics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with import/export requirements US export requirements and US customs regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable leadership skills preferably leading teams to improvement managing discipline and process compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to learn and use warehouse/shipping software
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Fluency in Spanish language preferred
