Water Exercise Instructor (Part Time)

Under the supervision of the Director of Wellness the Water Exercise Instructor will ensure that the patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience while using the equipment and facilities on the Pool Decks. They are responsible for monitoring the area during operating hours enforcing safety guidelines maintaining a clean and organized environment and promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the Pool areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Gain experience in the fitness industry and develop safe Water Exercise Instruction and customer service skills
• Interact with a diverse group of people and build relationships with Water Exercise patrons.
• Proactively builds relationships with the YMCA population.
• Work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
• Develop problem-solving skills by resolving conflicts and responding to patrons concerns.
• Work collaboratively with a team of like-minded individuals dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
• Monitors organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment to supervisor.
• Maintains records as required and supports studio closet/equipment area organization and inventory.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with YMCA staff employees members and program participants.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• CPR First Aid and AED certifications required
• Must have current Water Exercise Certification ACE AFAA AFPA AEA Burdenko and AQUA ZUMBA (for Shallow Water.)

Job Type: Part-Time
