Subject to formal establishment Joint Boarding process and sS Policies a vacancy will arise for a OR6-OF2 to serve asthe Joint Operational Planning Course Coordat the Integrated Warfare Centre Northwood HQ on ADC/PTVR/VTOD Terms and Conditions of Service (TaCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 1 Jul 26.
Up to 120 RSDs per year are available for the right candidate to conduct the role.
Unit Function:
IWCs mission to optimise and adapt the current integrated force through concepts and warfare development to support UK and NATO joint commanders to achieve operational advantage over adversaries across the continuum of competition.
Position Role:
This is an ideal opportunity for a OR6-OF2 from any Service trade or profession to support the delivery of a critical Defence course directly supporting the delivery of Joint Operations. The Joint Operational Planning Course (JOPC) is run at Northwood HQ and trains operational planning methodology primarily to the Permanent Joint Headquarters group but also to wider Defence and UK Govt Agencies.
The ideal candidate will have solid general experience of administration and will be confident to engage in proactive management of routine taskings. The task of coordinating and managing the course administration of the JOPC is currently shared among the dedicated instructor team; an additional team member is now sought to focus solely on the critical support required to ensure the continued effective delivery of the course.
The JOPC Coord will ensure all resources are in place for each course including:
- Booking trainees onto courses
- Coordination of JOPC instructors
- issuing course Joining Instructions
- Facilitating pre- and post- course coordination meetings
The JOPC coordinator will also work with SO1 and SO2 JOPC to ensure the course is fully compliant with JSP822
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all resources (instructors training material and IT) are delivered in order to support each Joint Operational Planning course.
- Act as JOPC POC for allocating students to courses iaw an agreed upon prioritisation list.
- Liaising with external speakers and arranging their attendance on each course.
- Working with SO2 and SO1 JOPC to ensure the course is compliant with JSP 822 including updating documentation and maintaining records.
- Engaging with overseas consulates in the organisation of Export Joint Operational Planning Courses.
- Working with SO2 and SO1 JOPC to ensure the maximum number of training opportunities are exploited throughout the calendar year.
- Maintaining the JOPC staff planning calendar.
