Role: Hands-on Application & Solution Architect (Detachment Assignment)
We are supporting a confidential end client in the search for a Hands-on Application & Solution Architect to join a strategic IT modernization initiative on a 4-month 60% engagement.
The consultant will work closely with senior IT stakeholders including the CIO (interim) development infrastructure and product teams to define and support the evolution from current legacy systems toward a modern scalable architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Map existing applications integrations data flows and dependencies
- Identify technical risks and legacy constraints
- Define application integration (API/event-driven) and data architecture
- Support infrastructure and cloud vs on-premise decisions
- Contribute to security identity & access architecture principles
- Define modern development standards (CI/CD modular architecture APIs)
- Advise on data BI and AI opportunities and architecture
- Explore AI integration in development and product processes
Tech Environment
- Strong Microsoft ecosystem: .NET / C# SQL Server Azure Active Directory
- Experience with legacy enterprise systems and modernization programs
- API-driven and service-oriented architectures
- CI/CD GitHub DevOps practices
- Familiarity with data/BI and cloud architectures
Profile Requirements
- 10 years in software development and application architecture
- Background as developer or tech lead before moving into architecture
- Strong experience in legacy modernization projects
- Experience in transactional or regulated environments is a plus (e.g. finance HR ERP billing systems)
- Strong ability to translate architecture into actionable engineering guidance
- Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Working Setup
- On-site presence required (initially 3 days/week later 2 days 1 remote day)
- Close collaboration with IT leadership and engineering teams
