Fleet Manager

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Charnwood to assist with the appointment of a Fleet Manager on a 5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 19.00 - 25.17 per hour

Summary:

The Fleet Manager will provide strategic leadership across all fleet operations within the operational services environment. The role is responsible for ensuring full compliance improving fleet performance and managing the complete vehicle lifecycle from procurement through to disposal while supporting sustainability and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance across all fleet activities including vehicle standards roadworthiness inspections defect reporting MOT planning and driver documentation.
• Develop and implement fleet strategies to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee fleet audits compliance reporting and evidence submissions.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance servicing and repairs with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Deliver compliance briefings toolbox talks and refresher training programmes.
• Implement reporting frameworks and analyse fleet data and performance trends.

Essentials:

• Proven experience in fleet compliance and managing vehicle lifecycle and replacement strategies
• Experience managing external suppliers and contracts
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Confident working with data systems and compliance documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
