Perform Recruitment is currently looking on behalf of a food manufacturing business in Galway for a Product Development Technologist.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced food industry professional to take ownership of exciting New Product Development projects from concept through to commercial launch. The successful candidate will play a key role in innovation product improvement and cross-functional project delivery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead NPD projects from initial brief through to successful commercial launch
Coordinate activities across R&D Technical Operations Procurement Quality Marketing and Supply Chain
Develop and manage project plans timelines budgets and key milestones
Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans
Chair project meetings and maintain clear stakeholder communication
Product Development & Commercialisation
Support new product launches reformulations and cost optimisation projects
Manage factory trials pilot runs and first production launches
Ensure successful scale-up from kitchen/pilot stage to full manufacturing
Work closely with Operations to ensure smooth product handover
Food Safety Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and customer-specific requirements
Support BRC audits with strong documentation and change control processes
Manage product specifications HACCP assessments allergen control shelf-life validation and labelling compliance
Maintain compliance with Irish and EU food legislation
Customer & Commercial Support
Act as a key contact for customer NPD projects when required
Support product presentations submissions and technical queries
Manage launch deadlines and critical path delivery
Continuous Improvement
Improve NPD systems processes and best practices
Monitor post-launch performance and resolve technical issues
Support long-term innovation strategy and pipeline development
Requirements
Proven experience in NPD Product Development or Project Management within food manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
Experience managing product launches and commercialisation projects
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes
Excellent organisation planning and project management skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Degree in Food Science Food Technology Nutrition or related discipline
Project Management experience is highly desirable
Good understanding of Irish and EU food regulations
