Job Summary
Location: Lexington Park MD
Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Telework Eligible No the work will be performed 100% on-site.
What Youll Do:
As a System Administrator youll join a top-notch team in support of NAVAIRs new Simulators at Sea () system. This system increases aviator readiness and is the first integrated training capability for an air wing to deploy on a Navy carrier. Get in on the ground floor of an exciting DoD initiative!
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan test and implement system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Integrate new software applications within complex mission-critical environments.
- Apply and maintain operating system security configurations in alignment with DISA STIG requirements.
- Identify and resolve system flaws implementing technical controls to strengthen cybersecurity.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to safeguard systems from potential threats.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues within integrated environments to maintain seamless operations.

What Youll Bring:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is required. Additional years of experience as an IT technician supporting DoD classified networks may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems is required; experience with Linux is a plus.
- Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of vCenter/VMware is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing Domain Name System (DNS) performance and reliability.
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining local and group policies.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) domain controller servers for managing authentication authorization and network resources.
- Knowledge of log aggregation and analysis across multiple sources.
- Familiarity with Windows PowerShell is preferred.
- Physical requirements: This position will require the ability to successfully navigate shipboard stairwells and small cramped spaces. May also require the ability to lift 20 pounds.

Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with TS eligibility. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Range:
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120000 - $139000 commensurate with an individuals experience qualifications and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation. The low end of this salary range is accounting for a candidate that meets or exceeds all of the listed requirements.
