Staff Accountant

Job Summary
Alcott HR is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company including the Accounts Payable function. This role requires strong attention to detail organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with month-end quarter-end and year-end close
- Reconcile bank accounts credit cards and Balance Sheet/P&L accounts
- Assist with external audits and provide required documentation
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and obtain proper levels of approval
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process checks runs ACH and wire payments
- Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
- Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUPS etc)
- High attention to detail
- Experience in a PEO environment a plus
- A proactive optimistic mindset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Problem solving and follow-up skills
Compensation: $75000 - $85000 annually commensurate with experience
