Position Summary: Uses holistic approach in provision of medical social services to YKDRH patients and their families to assist in solving or ameliorating physical social emotional and/or environmental problems which retard or prevent patients from attaining or retaining optimum health. Social services are provided to people of all ages from intra-uterine through elderly.
Position Qualifications:
- MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school of Social Work
- One (1) year experience in hospital or health-care setting.
- State of Alaska license at Master s level (LMSW) required.
- Valid Alaska State driver s license is required.
- Basic knowledge of computer use.
- Prefer experience working in cross-cultural setting with bilingual language skills in English & Yupik.
- Ability to read comprehend & write at the college level & effectively present information in one-on-one & group situations to patients/clients agencies communities & other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add subtract multiply/divide in all units of measure with whole numbers common fractions & decimals; compute rate ratio percent; draw/interpret bar graphs.
- Should be able to perform supervisory tasks when supervisor is away work independently and in collaboration with other social worker.
