Job Summary
TBest Services is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for our clients pediatric clinic in Hyattsville MD. The COTA will support Occupational Therapists by implementing treatment plans guiding patients through therapeutic activities documenting progress and helping pediatric clients improve mobility coordination and daily living skills. This role may also include collaborative care and cotreatment with Speech-Language Pathologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
- Guide pediatric patients through therapeutic activities and exercises
- Assist patients with improving mobility coordination sensory processing and daily living skills
- Monitor and document patient progress under OT supervision
- Report patient progress concerns or changes to the Occupational Therapist
- Participate in collaborative care and cotreatment sessions with SLPs when needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques home exercises and adaptive strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely therapy records
- Ensure therapy equipment is clean safe and properly maintained
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care goals
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification through NBCOT
- Active Maryland COTA license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required
- Ability to commute to Hyattsville MD or relocate before starting work
