Job Summary

Job Purpose

The Bookkeeper/General Accountant will maintain accurate financial records prepare required financial reports and ensure compliance with financial laws (GAAP). Provide auxiliary support for the company by performing tasks as defined and communicated by the COO and CEO.

  • Transaction classification
  • Journal Entries
    • Purchase
    • Acquisition
    • Expense
    • Payment
    • Customer Cash
    • Asset Purchase
    • A/R
    • Borrowing
    • Sale Closing
    • Revenue Received
    • Bad Debt Write Off
  • General Ledger Posting
  • Unadjusted Trial Balance

Accounting

  • Creating & Adjusting journal entries (ie: payroll gross up depreciation)
  • Review general ledger for proper posting of A/R and A/P
  • Journal Entry Adjustments
  • Create Temporary Adjustment Accounts
  • General Ledger Corrections
  • Revenue: Internal Reconciliation Adjustment to A/R
  • Expense: Expense recording variance review and investigation
  • Liabilities
  • Inventory Control
  • Equities
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Tie in all balance sheet accounts to supporting ledgers
  • Adjusted Trial Balance
  • Closing Entries
  • Monthly Quarterly and Year End Closings
    • General Ledger
    • Bank Reporting
    • Analyze Trial Balance

  • Financial Reports
    • Income Statement
    • Balance Sheet
    • Cash Flow Statement
    • Statement of Retained Earnings
  • P&L
  • Confirm that Statements conform to GAAP
  • Review reports required by the Accountant for Tax return preparation
  • Key Financial Metrics Analysis for the bank monthly to include Borrowing Base Certificate Inventory Evaluation Report A/R Aging and A/P Aging (can we automate these to run) *may remove this

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CB desired but not required
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a Bookkeeping or Finance role
  • Proficiency in SAP B1 Business Software
  • Moderate to Advanced Level in Microsoft Excel Software
  • High attention to detail for managing financial figures
