Job Summary: The Direct Claims Associate Account Manager supports the management of complex environmental asbestos and latent claims. This role involves analysing coverage coordinating defence strategies and ensuring effective claim resolution while maintaining accurate reserves and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze investigate and evaluate new loss notices and claim tenders
- Conduct policy searches to identify applicable coverage
- Assess claims under primary umbrella and excess policies
- Coordinate retention of defense counsel with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and implement defense strategies with insured parties and legal teams
- Manage claim resolution process and participate in mediations within authority limits
- Collaborate with reinsurance teams for notifications updates and inquiries
- Support declaratory judgment actions in coordination with legal and management teams
- Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves
- Oversee payment processing and ensure accurate allocation across policies
- Manage ALAE through strategic handling and billing coordination
- Maintain accurate and compliant claim documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines and respond with urgency
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and handle interruptions effectively
- Sound judgment in high-pressure or sensitive situations
- Proficiency in MS Word Excel and internet applications
Education:
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS) required
- J.D. preferred
- CPCU or other industry designation is a plus
- Property & Casualty Adjuster License preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in property & casualty claims
- Experience with environmental and/or latent claims preferred
- Legal background with relevant experience may be considered
