Inventory Controller

We are currently looking for an Inventory Controller who is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory operations across all Business Units in Australia to ensure optimal stock levels accuracy and availability. The Inventory Controller plays a critical role in delivering accurate inventory minimizing inventory costs while supporting service level targets and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deployment of inventory strategy across Australia and by Business Unit
- Re-aligning process with relevant stakeholders as required to drive operational excellence and improvement bespoke to specific AU business units
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across a network of self- managed and third party distribution centres
- Oversee regular stock counts (cycle counts and full physical inventories) and reconcile discrepancies in line with DKSH policy (e.g. Physical wall to wall once a year and daily cycle count program)
- Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions
- Monitor and action 3PL / 4PL outbound / IBL errors from EDI / SAP
- Generate inventory-related reports including stock levels aging inventory and consumption trends
- Track key inventory KPIs such as stock accuracy shrinkage turnover and stock-outs
- Manage monthly and year-end inventory audits
- Maintain and update inventory management systems (e.g. SAP WMS)
- Support implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices
- Collaborate with logistics distribution and production teams to ensure inventory integrity
- Ensure compliance with company policies quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify and minimize risks related to excess obsolete or expired stock
- Identify and deploy continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and / or operations to deliver improved results (e.g. Reduced cost)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics or Business Administration
- 25 years of experience in inventory control distribution operations or supply chain roles
- Previous experience in managing inventory across a national multi-site network
- Proficiency in Excel and SAP is experience preferable
- Strong attention to detail organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
