About the job

As part of our dynamic IT function you will be at the centre of shaping a critical actuarial platform as Product Owner - Actuarial Platform driving the vision roadmap and delivery of a core data and analytics solution connecting SICS with actuarial and finance processes. You work closely with reserving actuarial finance and data teams while guiding technical direction engineering standards and vendor delivery within a scaled agile environment.

Your responsibilities

• Own the reserving / actuarial platform as a product and technology asset ensuring alignment with actuarial workflows finance requirements and the overall technology strategy.

• Define and drive the product vision roadmap and backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager Finance & Reserving and key business stakeholders.

• Act as technology lead for the platform guiding architecture decisions engineering practices and development standards within the Python-based Azure environment.

• Ensure maintainability and quality of the platform by establishingor enhancing respectively standards for code quality testing documentation and CI/CD while supporting contributions from distributed developers and actuarial citizen developers.

• Collaborate closely with reserving finance data and integration teams to ensure reliable data flows and scalable platform capabilities.

• Maintain a hands-on understanding of the platforms architecture and codebase supporting design discussions code reviews and technical problem solving where needed.

• Drive the evolution of the platform replacing legacy tools and manual processes with automated scalable solutions.

Your profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Engineering Information Systems Mathematics Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field.

• Several years of experience as a Technical Product Owner Platform Owner or Engineering Lead in an agile environment.

• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in Python-based platforms and modern software engineering practices.

• Experience working with cloud environments (preferably Azure) and development workflows including Git-based version control and CI/CD.

• Ability to guide and review technical contributions while balancing product priorities and platform sustainability.

• Experience working across business and technology teams ideally in environments with distributed contributors or citizen developers.

• Exposure to insurance or reinsurance domains (e.g. reserving actuarial processes or finance data flows) is an advantage.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent in English German is advantageous.
