We are recruiting for an Intelligence Support Officer to support Wellington Districts frontline operations within our busy world-class intelligence unit. Our unit supports Police leaders and operational staff by helping them understand and plan for risks challenges and opportunities in the Wellington District criminal environment.
As an Intelligence Support Officer you will support the analytics function to inform decision-making and contribute to safer communities across Wellington. You will do this by scanning internal and external information sources collating and interpreting data and assisting in the preparation of intelligence products that support prevention intervention and enforcement activities. The role may also require briefing decision-makers.
You will bring a positive open mindset and be innovative and solutions-focused in your thinking. The environment we work in can be fast-paced and dynamic so adaptability and resilience are essential.
This position is currently responsible for assisting the delivery of intelligence support to tactical operations critical incidents and offender management. A core component of the Wellington District Intelligence Units operating model is the periodic rotation of analytic portfolios to encourage innovation and development. The focus of this role will rotate in the future.

Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate your ability to interpret synthesise and communicate complex information to diverse audiences both in written and verbal formats

Whakaritenga motuhake Special Requirement
- Applicants must be able to work predominantly on-site at Wellington Central Police Station.
- You may occasionally be required to work shift or outside of set work hours and alternative locations for operational reasons.
- Hold a current NZ Drivers license

To be eligible for this role you may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years or:
- A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years or
- A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia Canada United Kingdom or United States of America and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

Utu ā-tau Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $74748 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
