About the role

Mater Private Hospital Mackay has multiple exciting opportunities for an experienced motivated Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join the Day Surgery Unit. This position will be offered on a permanent part-time basis at 32 hours per week.

Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds since 1927. Located on the northern bank of the Pioneer River since 2003 our Hospital is a modern 105-bed facility featuring five operating theatres a fully equipped day surgery unit and a wide range of specialist clinical services.

Salary range: $35.92 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
• Within scope of practice implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
• Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
• Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
• Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
• Complies with organisational policies procedures work instructions and guidelines
• Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information

About you

To be successful in your application you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)

• Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1-year post-graduate experience)
• Previous experience within a pre and post-operative nursing care in an acute setting is highly desirable
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
• The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
