Accounting and Finance Manager

Industry: Trading / Import & Distribution

Location: Bangkok Thailand

Our client a well-established trading and import/distribution business is seeking an experienced Accounting and Finance Manager to oversee the full accounting function and support strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Management

• Oversee the full accounting cycle in line with accounting standards and relevant regulations
• Manage all accounting modules including General Ledger (GL) Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) Inventory and Fixed Assets
• Verify accuracy of accounting entries supporting documentation and system records
• Supervise the accounting team to ensure timely and complete reporting

2. Financial Closing

• Responsible for monthly quarterly and annual closing of full set financial statements
• Prepare full financial statements: Statement of Financial Position Profit and Loss Statement Cash Flow Statement Statement of Changes in Equity and Notes to Financial Statements
• Review and post adjusting entries including accruals depreciation inventory adjustments and provisions
• Liaise with external auditors and government agencies and prepare supporting documentation for audits

3. Financial Analysis

• Analyse financial statements to support management decision-making (Gross Profit Margin Net Profit Margin Cost Structure Cash Flow)
• Analyse profitability by product product line and channel
• Conduct Budget vs Actual analysis and explain variances
• Track revenue cost and expense trends
• Prepare management reports and financial dashboards for senior leadership

4. Trading / Import Cost Analysis

• Analyse Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) including purchase cost freight import duty and logistics cost
• Monitor inventory movement and inventory turnover
• Analyse margin on imported and distributed products
• Provide cost insights to support pricing decisions

5. Financial Management

• Plan and manage company cash flow and assess business liquidity
• Coordinate with banks on Letters of Credit (LC) Bank Guarantees and Credit Facilities
• Support management on financial planning and investment decisions

6. Tax & Compliance

• Oversee tax filings: VAT Withholding Tax (WHT) and Corporate Income Tax (CIT)
• Ensure tax compliance for import-related activities
• Liaise with the Revenue Department and tax advisors

7. Team Management

• Lead and develop the accounting and finance team
• Set KPIs and monitor team performance
• Improve accounting processes and systems for greater efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting Finance or a related field
• Minimum 7-10 years experience in accounting and finance
• At least 3-5 years in an Accounting Manager / Finance Manager role
• Hands-on experience closing full set financial statements
• Experience in Trading / Import / Distribution businesses is highly preferred
• Strong financial analysis capability
• Experience working with external auditors and government agencies
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP / accounting software
