European Energy Markets Regulation Specialist

What you will do:
Monitors EU legislation network codes market design reforms and the positions of regulatory bodies assessing their impacts on wholesale market dynamics crossborder trading ancillary services and system operation frameworks. By combining strong analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of market mechanisms the role translates complex regulatory changes into actionable insights that support trading asset optimization and longterm strategic planning.
In close cooperation with other internal teams contribute to the severall consultation processes safeguards the companys interests in policy debates and ensures alignment with compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of EU electricity and gas market legislation including modifications on network codes (ENTSO-E/ACER) and market design reforms and regulatory frameworks with impact on regional & crossborder trading.
- Coordinate the analysis of market regulations in the countries where GEM manages merchant asset and identify possible impacts on strategy performance to improve the results of market operations.
- Ability to interpret regulatory proposals assess market impacts perform scenario analysis and translate regulatory changes into quantitative and operational implications for trading strategies.
- Capacity to interact with regulators TSOs industry associations and internal business units ensuring EDPs positions are aligned and represented in consultations and regulatory processes.
- Ability to prepare clear regulatory briefings position papers and internal guidance simplifying complex regulatory content for senior management and operational teams.
- Higher Focus on CWE & northern markets of STAO and cooperate with the Portuguese & Spanish regulation teams for the European legislation that may affect Iberian Operations

What are we looking for
- Degree or masters on Engineering
- More than 6 years of experience in Renewable regulation Transmission grid or Electricity/Energy markets
- Knowledge of the EDP Renewable fleet in Europe
- Good level of spanish
