Junior Management Position – System Network Engineer

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our client a Karachi-based State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI) seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:

Job Role

As a System / Network Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the secure reliable and high-performance operation of the IT infrastructure that powers the EMIs digital payment ecosystem. The role involves hands-on management of networks servers and production systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (including SBP guidelines) and internal security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• System & Network Administration: Manage and maintain production systems (servers databases networks applications) to ensure stability security and scalability. Execute day-to-day operational tasks including end-of-day jobs batch processing overnight jobs and backup verification.
• Monitoring & Incident Response: Utilize monitoring tools to track system uptime performance errors and anomalies. Handle incident detection classification and resolution performing root-cause analysis to ensure minimal downtime and customer impact.
• Vendor Coordination: Interface with infrastructure and cloud service providers to support daily operations. Ensure vendor activities align with SBP compliance requirements regarding security data protection and audit standards.
• Capacity & Patching: Monitor storage processing and network capacity; plan and execute hardware/software upgrades and security patching to support business growth and security requirements.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all infrastructure operations comply with SBP guidelines and internal technology risk frameworks. Assist in generating reports on system performance and incidents as required.

Education

• Minimum 16 years of education preferably a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution.

Experience

• Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position.

• Experience in a bank EMI fintech or regulated financial institution growth functions is preferred.

Requirements

• Collaborative Execution Experience managing multi-stakeholder campaigns especially in coordination with external partners and retail-facing brands.
