Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Engineer SAL

Objective

The Sustainability & Energy Management Specialist oversees the organizations energy management strategy and initiatives on a regional scale. The primary focus of this role is to optimize energy consumption promoting sustainability and drive innovative solutions to reduce carbon footprint. The role willcolaboratewith variousstakeholdersexecutiveleadership & Plant Staff to ensure regional operationsisaligned withindustrybest practices andenviromental& sustainability goals.

Main Responsibilities

• Energy Strategy Development: Drive Energy Roadmap (including power production sourcing of renewable energies fuel switch etc.) aligned with the organizations long-term sustainability targets and industry-leadingpractices..

• Efficiencies and conservation: Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency across all Nemak MEX plants and implement measures to optimize energy usage worldwide.

• Energy performance: Establish and track KPIs to evaluate energy consumption trends identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement.

• Emissions management: Develop and implement energy strategies to minimize carbon emissions. Work on long term reduction scenarios in scope 1&2 in support of the net zero strategy. Support and evaluate the net zero implementation on plant level focusing on decarbonization targets.

• Innovation: Evaluation of key technologies against long term decarbonization strategy and advice on emerging energy technologies and industry specific trends. Exploring innovative solutions to optimize energy usage replacement of fossil fuels by alternative technologies andto optimizeemission and energy footprint as well as to reduce costs.

• Sustainability CAPEX: Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop energy budgets conduct financial analysis of energy projects and ensure cost-effective energy management strategies.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams local OperationsMaitenance& HSE managers and external partners to foster collaboration. Share best practices and support energy initiatives.

• Reporting: Manage the utility data management system. Prepare regular reportstoexecutive leadership communicating progress on energy management initiatives achievements andfuture plans.

• Contribute to ISO 14001 ISO 50001 and ASI management systems through process standardization.

Position Requirements

• Education:Bachelors degree inEngineering Environmental Science Sustainability(or related field).

• Experience: Minimum 34 years in aEnergy ManagementEnergy Efficiency Technologies (Preferably aluminum foundry)Legal compliance (Env & Energy)

• Certifications:ISO 14001 Expert ISO 50001 Expert.

• ExperienceISO Lead auditorandLegal requirementsexpert.

Technical Knowledge:

• Expertise in air emissions hazardous substances risk and impact management.

• Energy & Emissions Management

• Mexican Environmental Regulations both at Federal and State levels

• Expertise in water energy waste
