Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs Non-Invasive diagnostic testing in inpatient outpatient and Outpatient Care Center (OCC) setting including electrocardiograms (EKG) rhythm strips atrial wire electrocardiograms Holter monitor placement analysis and scanning exercise stress tests and event/loop monitor placement. Performs cardiology clinic support duties as assigned by Lead/Manager/Director. Performs quality control to ensure the standardization of EKG related testing throughout Organization. Assists the OCCs with equipment maintenance education training and ordering supplies. Demonstrates professional appearance and demeanor. Promotes and demonstrates teamwork in all interactions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Completes all EKG related testing according to Non-Invasive Cardiology policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality of results
- Triages and prioritizes patient care and ensures clinical data is correct and appropriate for the exam/test requested to maintain patient safety and result accuracy
- Operates computerized reporting network and databases for all EKG related systems and collaborates with Lead Technician to ensure consistent functionality
- Follows written policies for all procedures practices per current standards and reviews procedure manual annually to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge
- Communicates with Lead Technician/Manager to ensure consistent coverage of assigned area; assumes on-call status as needed to ensure adequate coverage throughout the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a High School diploma GED Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.
- Graduate of an accredited school and diploma in Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Technician (NCT) training(OR) a Certified Medical Assistant program with experience performing EKGs Holter monitor set-up and Holter scanning and event monitors (OR) Certified EKG Technician.
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification preferred
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification AHA
Salary Range: Minimum 16.29/hour - Maximum 26.08/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
