Bookkeeper & Accounts Assistant $1800$3000 USD/month Fully Remote
Location: Fully remote you can be based anywhere in the world
Hours: Flexible at least 3 hours overlap with US EST or UK GMT
Salary: $1800$3000 USD/month
Contract: Full-time permanent
About the company
Remote World is partnering with a UK-based accounting firm to hire for this role. They provide bookkeeping and management accounts for a portfolio of UK SME clients and need a reliable accounts assistant to support the team.
The role
Youll handle day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of UK clients transaction coding bank reconciliation VAT support and preparing reports for review. Youll work closely with senior accountants and be the person who keeps the numbers clean.
What youll do
- Code and categorise transactions in Xero or QuickBooks
- Reconcile bank accounts weekly and resolve discrepancies
- Process sales invoices purchase invoices and expense claims
- Support VAT return preparation and submission
- Prepare monthly management accounts for senior review
What youll need
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Proficiency in Xero QuickBooks or Sage
- Accurate and deadline-driven
- Good written English for client-facing communication
Nice to have
- AAT ACCA or studying towards either
- Experience working with UK VAT and payroll
- Background in an accounting practice environment
